Accessing Multiple Forerunner Accounts
Forerunner now makes it easier for users who work across multiple communities to do their work — without juggling logins or email addresses. Whether you support neighboring towns, manage multiple jurisdictions, or work for a state agency or contractor, you can now access all your communities from a single Forerunner login.
Adding Users Who Work in Multiple Communities
When inviting a user to your Forerunner account, just enter the email address they use with Forerunner. If that user already belongs to another community account, they’ll be able to access both — no need to create a second login or email.
- You don’t need to do anything special to “link” accounts.
- The same user can have different roles or permissions in each community.
- Suspending a user from your community won’t impact their access elsewhere.
✅ Tip: If a user is having trouble accepting an invite, make sure they’re using the same email address they use for their other Forerunner work.
How Users Switch Between Communities
Once logged in, users with access to more than one community will see an Account Selector in the left-hand sidebar of the dashboard. This allows them to easily move between their communities without logging out and back in.
Here’s what to expect:
- If you're already logged into one account, just open the sidebar and click the community you'd like to switch to.
- If your session for another account is expired, you’ll be prompted to log in again for that account.
- On mobile, you can only switch accounts while you’re online. Offline access is specific to the account you're logged into.
Security & Login
- Each community account has its own security settings — including password rules and multi-factor authentication.
- When you log out, you're only logging out of the community you're currently using.
- If you fail biometric login on mobile, you’ll be logged out of all your accounts on that device for security.
Using the Mobile App
Account switching is supported on mobile, too!
- You’ll only sync data for the community you’re currently logged into.
- Offline maps and inspection data are specific to each community.
- You can’t switch accounts while offline — since each login requires validation.
